The current dataset (the items and modifiers) are currently Path of Exile 1's until Path of Exile 2's data can be parsed. The intent is being able to experience the new way crafting methods work in Path of Exile 2 until offical data is available. Additional Essences were extrapolated from other attribute tags and will be adjusted when possible. Runes and Soul Cores will be worked in with the addition of sockets on gear as well.

Special rules
For meta-crafting to be valid you must have an affix type fully built as well as at least 2 required affixes on the other affix type that are not part of the same mod group. Ex: 3 suffixes set as present on the item and 2 prefixes set as required.

What is known?

The main philosophy now seems to be that items can never downgrade in rarity as well as not being able to completely reroll an item.

Changes :
  • The scouring orb has been removed.
  • The alteration orb has been removed.
  • The chaos orb now removes a random modifier and adds a new random modifier.
  • The crafting bench has been removed, metamod-like effects will now come from Omens.

Crafting in Path of Exile 2

The crafting in Path of Exile 2 is changing alot. Some currencies have been removed while others have had their effect changed entirely.

As we get more information about the crafting system and as the game release draws nearer I will try to reflect its functionnality here so people can play around with how its likely going to function in the Calculator, Simulator and Emulator but on the Path of Exile 1 mods and items dataset.

  • Runes are replacing bench-crafting by allowing the player to choose additionnal mods to appear on an item but without taking mod slots.
  • Omens now affect crafting in the same way as meta-mods did. Some of them will limit craft effect to either prefixes or suffixes.
  • Essences seem to work like harvest crafting by forcing mods of a certain type to appear.
  • Catalysts pretty much look the same as in Path of Exile 1.

Disclaimer

This tool is a work in progress and as such do not take every result you see as a fullproof pin-point accurate number. Many features are still in an experimental stage and might require fine-tuning. I made this tool to be able to find more efficient and cheap ways of crafting while getting a better understanding of the whole system. I make it available to the community so everyone can enjoy the same advantages.

When working with high-probability calculations (<= 1/100) it is advised to double check the result via the mass simulation function with a sufficiently high count (>= 1 000 000) at the bottom before spending in-game currency. From experience, most of the calculation errors I've encountered (and since fixed) come from setups that leave the affix pool disproportionately skewed towards one mod in particular. If your setup results in this I highly recommend using simulation as an extra validation. If you do see a notable discrepancy between the calculation and simulation please let me know by going to the About page and sending me a detailed message.
